Too often we see people desperately trying to “band-aid” serious injuries in order to line up for an event/race. From having a dodgy knee and entering a marathon in 2 months, to disc pathology leading up to an Ironman.
We do our very best but don’t (always) have magic hands! Sometimes it just is not possible to come back from injury quickly enough! Pre-hab is SO much easier than rehab. Here is some advice to make our job easier, and keep you injury free this year.

Find your weakness – everyone has one! A muscle that isn’t as strong as it could be or stiffness in a joint. Find out what it is and manage it.

Work on it – get some help and start a specific pre-hab program. Usually it only needs to be done two to three times a week.

Get help early – as soon as you get a niggle, or notice the weakness/stiffness get it looked at. Don’t wait till you can hardly walk!
